Now first off my friends and I hit our favorite stores on a weekly basis as part of our weekend hangs. REED SPACE is one of them, we're in there almost every weekend and every time we go in someone in the group usually purchases something...

So we thought they were being cool when they asked for pics for the Reed Space blog last weekend when we were all baped out in the new sharks... well I guess their idea of customer appreciation is making fun of people online where there's no place for us to respond. FUCK THAT!

I am even a street team member for staple design and I've been promoting their vision and vibe and this is how I'm repaid, by being made fun of on a blog read by at least thousands... Not cool at all, and it wasn't just one pic... the chick working there said her boss, "mr. staple," wanted a picture of all our shoes too...

We thought it was cool, apparently they thought it was a joke... saying we're from LI and don't have train fare. I live 2 blocks from RS and always felt welcome in there. Until now...

I called Jeff Staple this morning and left him a message. I hope he gives me at least the courtesy of a call back.

Today at Show nightclub in NYC was the 2nd annual Dunk Exchange, as to be expected it was packed. Wall to wall sneakerheads didn't stop me from heading there with some people off of BAPEtalk, a message board for fans of A Bathing Ape. We met at BWS and hit all the usual spots... ended up at Dunk Exchange and there was definitely a lot of really great sneakers there, just the prices were through the roof! $600 for the sbtg dunks... in the words of Gob Bluth, "COME ON!!!" Anyways, check it out...

Yours truly attempted to do a flip several times this past weekend at Davy D's 3rd annual Guitar-B-Q. I failed and on this last one smacked my back pretty hard. Hope you all enjoy.

The jams were great, everyone from Dave's band AROCKALYPSE was there so the tunes were good. I threw disc all day and drank beer and swam and grilled meat and corn and chowed down!

Good times, can't wait for the 4th annual next year!

Lewis Black has a new book out called "Nothing is Sacred." It may not be new, but it's now out in paperback version with an extra 22 pages. Check out this little video of him answering a question from an audience member. I was pretty far back but I think you can make him out at a podium if you try. Whatever, it was cool being there...

Been really really busy as of late, and I scored these a long time ago. Worn them a couple times, but these are photos from the day of purchase. I try to keep photos of the sneaks in deadstock condition. Foot Patrol Air Max 90's... the original brown. 1200 pairs world wide... I think this is the last brown pair in the city in a size 11.

Scored the Foot Patrol Nike Air Stabs from Flight Club NY on Greene St. south of 8th street in Manhattan. They were a birthday gift by way of gift certificate from some dear dear friends of yours truly. "Mr. and Mrs. Wizard." Dig the double lacing technique, gotta give props to some cat I saw rockin these a while back at the "Kiss of Death" CLOT Lineup at Alife... this lace technique was the best thing to come out of that rainy wait. Anyways, check these babies out... I'm rockin' them come a sunny day!

Worst Real World cast ever...

So is it just me (and obviously it's not) or is this cast of Real World: Key West the worst cast ever. I really think the people are a wee bit too damaged this season. Usually I can have something invested in the cast or whatever, but not this year. They are just jabronis! Just a bunch of punk bitches, I can't even really remember their names, I mean they just get wasted and yell at each other. There's one check that needs a sandwich, one chick who should get naked but hasn't, a gay dude (obviously) and a couple more douchebags with less personality that my left nut. Anyways, just had to vent because they keep showing previews and I know I'll watch but seriously it's terrible, and their job is bunk too... and what's with all they hurricane interruptions. When my friends were in Key West, they tripped their balls off in Mallory Square and it was game time!

This episode featured some extremely hard partying, two more Radiohead songs from their recent small theater tour of Europe. Both myself and Briley Style are seeing Radiohead once in NYC in June (hopefully twice) and once in Chicago a few days later.

Me and Styles saw the Raconteurs tonight at tower. Here's the sexy first song where the power blew out. Oh well, all is fair in rock and roll!
After the Raconteurs fixed the power issue and blasted our brains out, I headed over to see David Berkeley at Mo Pitkin's. It's a Judao/Latino restaurant in the East Village. Headed up by the same folks who do the Two Boots thang! Berkeley and band put on a great show. He had some of Brooklyn's finest rockin the gig, with Chris Tarrow on guitar and Dan Vonnegut on drums. Brian Deck is going to produce his next record in Chicago this summer. Much different than the Raconteurs, but still. He's a very talented songwriter. Check him out when you get a moment...

This morning at about 6am me and Briley Style descended on the Tower Records on West 4th and Broadway. There were only about 20-25 people there ahead of us when we arrived. It was cold and raining, which probably kept the crowd down. By 7am though the line stretched almost all the way down the block. Anyways, we got a copy of the Raconteurs debut LP: Broken Boy Soldiers.

We also were close enough to the front of the line to score a wrist band for Thursday's in store performance at 10pm. Check back to this page on Friday for hopefully some pictures and a setlist.

Scored the last 11's in the city from Recon at 359 Lafayette a while back, also nabbed the new "Clerk's Pack" AM90's from Size? out of London. I grabbed them the day they dropped at Recon, most of the top level boutiques are carrying them now in town, including ALIFE Rivington Club and Dave's Quality Meats and Recon/Nort.

I'm pretty sure you can also get a pair from Flight Club if you're in Manhattan or from their online counterpart Vintage Kicks.

Anyways, I'll post pics of the clerk's pack soon. I got these footpatrol AM90s back when they dropped but didn't wear them until this past weekend. Comfy as all get out!

Fresh from the east village, artist Tyler Bush has begun painting custom designs inspired and conceived by Matt Shane on blank white skateboard decks. Every deck is one of a kind, there will be no mass production of the decks as far as I can tell from speak to the artists. There will be a limited initial run of "audio" inspired designs. This first one features the highly sought after and hard to come by vintage Neumann U47 microphone. This mic is late 50s/early 60s and can be heard on every great record from the era... Beatles, Rolling Stones, you name it! Check it out. If interested in getting one of these decks designed for you email post a comment and yours truly will pass your info on to Matt.

9/11 special on National Geographic...

They broadcast and started the 9-11 special, called "Inside 9-11" on the National Geographic channel. Pretty amazing sequence of events from the early 1990s through September 11th, 2001. It continues tomorrow Monday night withe events of the day of the 11th. Pretty gripping stuff... Channnel 65 in Manhattan.

Went to the Nike design lab at 255 Elizabeth street in Manhattan this morning. The pictures are of the dunks I designed and will receive in 3-4 weeks. They are dark cinder brown with green curry and purple swoosh and laces... Dig it!

ECC Rocks the DORY!

Erich Collins Carey, the "Bachelor of Arts" rocked the Dory down to the ground saturday night on Shelter Island off of the end of Long Island into the wee hours of the morning. Highlights of the show included "Mannish Boy," A Bob Marley medley and big old rip roaring Rolling Stones "Can't Always Get What You Want" finale with a big'ol "Foxy Lady" thrown in! Xtian Petersen came down from Vermont and held down lead guitar and brought the funk flava with drummer Matt Shane. The show was a tribute to Jmagg's return from LA for a visit back east. Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" was Jmagg's favorite number of the evening! ECC does barefoot rock'n'roll at the Dory every Friday in August on Shelter Island.

Walt "Clyde" Frazier was on hand to sign the relaunch of limited edition PUMA clydes at my favorite shoe spot in NYC, Alife Rivington Club he was there signing people's Clydes. The store only had 32 pairs, I believe there were only 150 available in NYC and 1000 overall nationwide. I got a pair for my pops for his upcoming birthday, he's a new yorker and a frazier fan and I'm a sneaker freak so I'm stoked to keep this in the family... Check it!

Finished mixing my compadre EZEKIEL ZAGAR's record...features the reggae legends, Horsemouth, Larry Macdonald, Ze Louis and others... Been mixing and remixing and tweaks for a couple years and I believe tonight we put the finishing touches on at Pilot Recording Studios

mongolian bbq!

Today I went with my girlfriend to the PUMA store in Soho for our appointment to design our very own pumas during their Mongolian Shoe Barbecue. You pick out the parts and get the shoes 6 weeks later... attached is the design I did, if I see any dupes out there I'm kicking dirt on your copies! There's only 180 pairs per location. I believe it's coming to the midwest and west coast in august and september... sign up early because the waiting list in NYC was a mile long.
